Design Engineer
We are currently seeking a Design Engineer who enjoys working in a manufacturing plant environment and participating in activities that support people, production, reliability and cost improvements to ensure the on-going success of the business, meanwhile maintaining a comfortable and safe working environment.
About the role
Reporting to the general manager at ALT America Inc. you will:
- Work efficiently as part of the design team to deliver high-quality engineering drafting and design services according to TS16949 system and ALT America Inc. design regulations
- Ensure receiving complete sales requirements and can be achieved.
- Implement best practice design principles and standards, identify and implement innovative design solutions
- Prepare analytical data, correspondence, reports and presentations
- Utilize and maintain databases and electronic record systems
- Consult with customers. E.g. consultants, contractors, suppliers and public authorities
- Address all warranty issues and determine best fix solution
About You
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A minimum of 8 years’ automotive design experience would be extremely helpful
- Sound knowledge of TS16949 systems
- Experienced in 2D drawing making, and 3D parametric modeling
- Expert knowledge of front-end accessory drive systems including steering pump, timing/belt / hydraulic tensioner, pulley
- Sound knowledge in manufacturing process including die-casting, stamping, machining, plastic injection, and assembly
- Knowledge of tooling design and mold flow analysis
- MTS and Rotec machine operation and parameter analysis will be highly desirable
- Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and good knowledge of front end accessory drive systems
- Applicants with Mandarin communication ability will also be highly desirable
