Market Research Analyst

ALT America Inc. is a multi-national, multi-channel distributor (retail, wholesale, and catalog) of automotive parts as well as a manufacturer of several branded product lines. We are seeking a Market Research Analyst to join our team!

Market Research Analyst to research aftermarket auto parts industry to identify potential clients.  The Market Research Analyst will be a key member of our Marketing team in a highly customer-centric, data-driven business. The Market Research Analyst will create reports that provide insight and information to develop and measure marketing campaigns (direct mail, print advertising, catalogs, events, online). The Market Research Analyst will also collaborate with the IT department and other key stakeholders to develop process improvements for data management and collection. This position will be located at our corporate office in Westland, Michigan in the Great Detroit area.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research the aftermarket auto parts industry, and identify the potential clients for ALT America Inc.
  2. Research and collect target clients’ information including their history, development, scale, number of employees and background of managers in different departments
  3. Collect and analyze competitors’ prices and products.
  4. Monitor the automotive market, and forecast tensioner products sales trends
  5. Coordinate communication between clients and the production department

Minimum Requirements

  1. BS in market research, business administration, or related fields and 2 years experience performing the above duties. Master’s Degree is Preferred
  2. Minimum of two or more years of professional experience in data analysis and reporting on consumer campaigns (direct mail/catalog, phone, web)
  3. Must have a strong understanding of, and experience applying basic statistical concepts and a working knowledge of multivariate statistics
  4. Must be proficient in analytical models specific to consumer marketing such as campaign effectiveness, customer acquisition/retention, and customer lifetime value
  5. Experience in the development and use of large-scale customer marketing databases, with a working experience in SQL queries and MS Access preferred
  6. Proficient with MS Office applications including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Advanced Excel user (pivot tables, macros, advanced formulas)
  7. Exposure to statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS or SAS Visual Studio) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Business Objects and Tableau)
  8. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage cross-functional relationships; Able to contribute to business and strategic planning. Critical thinking and conceptual problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail
  9. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; Highly organized, proactive, positive, reliable, dedicated with tremendous follow-through
  10. Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
